The week closes with informative hearings with authorities and beneficiary population of Road Axis 4

The Project Management Office, Road Axis 4 - Amazonas, closed this Thursday, September 19, a week of informative hearings given to provincial, local and community authorities of the area of incidence of the future work.

The informative itinerary began on Monday 16 in Chiriaco, in the District Municipality of Imaza, where councilman Galdino Mashian Nampag, representing the district mayor Mr. Eduardo Cungumas Kujancham, received the PMO delegation, composed of the director, Engineer Francisco Durán Garay and the Deputy Director, Engineer Fredy San Román, and his technical team. They were joined by residents of nearby communities.

The second hearing took place in the Wawico Village Center on Tuesday, September 17, where a good turnout, led by the Municipal Agent Andrés Chinguel Chingel, listened with interest to the current status of the project, which has opened its first International Procurement process for the Review of the Project Profiles.

Afterwards, the project management team went to Manseriche, Saramiriza, in order to tour the entire route of the road to be improved.

On Wednesday, September 18, information was provided to the population of Nuevo Siasme, where Marcos Julon Nunkankit, Mayor of the town, representatives of various sectors, including roads, transportation and indigenous leaders, actively participated to hear first-hand information on what the PMO is doing, the progress of the project, the advantages and scope of the Government to Government Contract modality.

Finally, the last informative meeting was held at the Provincial Municipality of Condorcanqui, in Santa María de Nieva, on Thursday, September 19, in which the Municipal Manager, Angel Yeraldo Chafoque Barraján, represented Hermógenes Lozano Tringoso, Mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Condorcanqui.

About the work

It is worth mentioning that the Project “Implementation of the Definitive Solution for the Road Axis 4 - Amazonas: Duran Bridge - Wawico Bridge - Santa María de Nieva/Nuevo Siasme - Saramiriza Corridor”, covers 214 km of the two-lane road and includes 73 bridges along these 3 stretches.

To encourage the participation and involvement of all the beneficiaries of the project during each of its stages, the Mechanism for Attention to Consultations, Complaints and Requests, the channels and procedures that exist to be in communication with the PMO Road Axis 4 - Amazonas were presented at the hearings.

The activity is a joint initiative with the Amazonas Regional Unit of Provias Nacional, represented by Engineer Albert Encalada, who accompanied each of the meetings.
