The Special Project of National Transportation Infrastructure - Provias Nacional carried out with great success the first International Procurement Roadshow for the Review of the profiles of the Project “Implementation of the Definitive Solution for the Road Axis 4 - Amazonas. Puente Duran-Puente Wawico - Santa María de Nieva/Nuevo Siasme – Saramiriza Corridor”. This event, organized by the PMO Road Axis 4 - Amazonas, counted with the participation of more than one hundred people interested in participating in this international tenderl.
Iván Aparicio Arenas, who highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the institution he heads, with the reduction of the road infrastructure gap in Peru, in order to ensure connectivity that promotes social and economic integration of the country and mainly with the regions of Amazonas and Loreto.
Francisco Durán Garay, Project Director of the Consortium Road Axis 4 - Amazonas, thanked the Government of Peru for its confidence in the capabilities and international collaboration of the Government of Japan, represented by the Consortium Road Axis 4 - Amazonas, for the management of a project of this magnitude.
During the event, general information about the project was presented, as well as a brief summary of the scope of services required. The timeline of the International Procurement process was also presented, outlining the key stages and deadlines for the submission of proposals.
In addition, the eligibility and evaluation criteria that bidders must meet were presented, ensuring a transparent and competitive process. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions, which fostered an atmosphere of interaction and collaboration.
The purpose of the Roadshow was to inform and encourage the participation of companies and professionals in the development of a road infrastructure that will benefit the region and the country as a whole.
Government to Government Contract
On May 14, 2024, a contract was signed between the State of the Republic of Peru, represented by Provias Nacional, and the Consortium Road Axis 4 - Amazonas, whereby the Consortium, formed by the Japanese companies Nippon Koei Co., Ltd., and Nippon Koei Latin America Co., Ltd., provide technical assistance services for the execution of the Project “Implementation of the Definitive Solution for the Road Axis 4 – Amazonas: Duran Bridget - Wawico Bridge - Santa María de Nieva/Nuevo Siasme – Saramiriza Corridor”.
With this event, Provias Nacional reaffirms its commitment to transparency and the inclusion of all interested bidders in the procurement processes, laying the foundations for a sustainable and efficient development of the Road Axis 4 - Amazonas.
